Simpson & Partners — Dynamic Load Management
Power,
Perfectly
Balanced.
Equilibra is the world's first fully distributed, leaderless EV load management system. No gateway. No single point of failure. Every amp, exactly where it's needed — automatically.
The old way
was holding
you back.
Every other load management system puts a master controller in charge. One box fails — the whole site goes down. Cloud goes offline — charging stops.
Equilibra works differently. Using a patented distributed mesh protocol, every charger is equal. Every charger runs the same algorithm. Every charger arrives at the correct answer — independently. There is nothing to fail.
No gateway to install. No hub to maintain. No cloud subscription required to keep vehicles charging. Just intelligent, self-balancing power that gets out of your way.
Built for the real world.
Not the lab.
Leaderless mesh
No master controller. Every charger runs the same deterministic algorithm and arrives at identical setpoints independently. Remove any node — the group rebalances in seconds.
Demand-aware allocation
Equilibra detects when a vehicle isn't using its full share and redistributes the surplus to chargers that need it. Every amp is always working.
Cloud-Independent
The mesh runs entirely on-site. Internet outages, AWS downtime, CSMS failures — none of these affect vehicle charging. Cloud connectivity enhances the system; it doesn't control it.
True three-phase
Independent per-phase budgeting prevents any single phase from overloading. Single-phase, two-phase, and three-phase chargers coexist in the same load group.
OCPP 1.6 & 2.0.1
Full OCPP integration with a clear authority hierarchy. CSMS charging profiles take precedence when present. Mesh takes over instantly if the CSMS goes offline.
Building Load Manager
Optional CT clamp integration monitors live building load and dynamically adjusts the charging budget in real time. When the building is quiet, chargers get more.
Architecture
Three layers.
One truth.
Equilibra operates as three independent layers. Each is complete on its own. Each adds capability without creating dependency.
The mesh layer handles real-time load balancing with no outside help. The cloud layer adds monitoring, telemetry, and remote management. The Building Load Manager layer expands available capacity when the site allows it.
Lose any layer — the others keep running. That's not a feature. That's the architecture.
For Installers
Install it.
Commission it.
Walk away.
Five-minute BLE commissioning
Open the installer app. Scan for chargers. Set the phase, budget, and site ID. Done. No laptop. No CLI. No IP address configuration.
No gateway hardware
There is no hub to mount, no Raspberry Pi to configure, no DIN rail controller to power. Equilibra lives inside every charger. Fewer parts means fewer callbacks.
Self-healing by design
A charger loses Wi-Fi? It drops to a safe minimum and the group rebalances around it. Wi-Fi restored? It rejoins automatically within 30 seconds.
Remote visibility, zero dependency
Live dashboard, remote configuration, and OTA firmware updates via AWS IoT. And if the internet goes down, the chargers keep running exactly as configured.
"The first load management system that genuinely has nothing to fail. We installed eight chargers, commissioned them in under twenty minutes, and haven't touched them since."— Early Access Installer Partner — Commercial Fleet Site, UK
